Details

Trichinellosis (Trichinosis) is a worldwide zoonosis, caused by nematodes (roundworms) in the genus Trichinella. In Europe, Trichinella spiralis and Trichinella britovi are the most common species of Trichinella.
Mammalian carnivores and omnivores (e. g. fox, marten, badger, bear, pig and rat) are the usual hosts of Trichinella, although herbivores, such as horse or camel, are susceptible as well.

The NovaTec VetLine Trichinella ELISA is intended for the qualitative determination of antibodies against Trichinella spp. in veterinary serum.
