INgezim® ASFV CROM Ag 2.0 (100 tests)

INgezim® ASFV CROM Ag 2.0 is a double antibody lateral flow assay based on the use of a monoclonal antibody (MAb) specific of VP72 of African Swine Fever Virus (ASFV).

Details

African Swine Fever (ASF) is a highly contagious viral disease that affects domestic and wild pigs, causing severe economic losses in the swine industry. There is currently no effective vaccine, so rapid detection and control are essential to prevent its spread.

INgezim® ASFV CROM Ag 2.0 is a qualitative lateral flow or immunochromatographic assay designed to detect the presence of the African Swine Fever virus (ASFV) in samples.

The membrane contains a test line region (T) in which a monoclonal antibody against the VP72 protein is immobilised, and a control line region (C) in which an antibody to the control protein is immobilised. If the sample contains ASFV antigen, the VP72 will interact with the antibody bound on the surface of the black latex nanoparticles. After adding the running buffer, these latex-antibody-antigen complexes will migrate through the membrane and they will bind to the monoclonal antibody immobilised in the T region, resulting in the appearance of a black-grey coloured line. In case no VP72 is present in the sample, no colour will appear in that region.

In both cases, latex nanoparticles covered with the control protein will continue to migrate through the membrane and they will be recognised by the monoclonal antibody immobilised in the control line region. For this reason, the appearance of a blue line in the control line region (C) indicates that the assay developed correctly.

The test can be performed using the following samples collected from swine: Fresh blood samples and blood samples collected by venous puncture.
