We are pleased to announce the latest product in our new allergen PowerLine test range: the SENSIStrip Milk PowerLine Lateral Flow Device! This test represents a sensitive detection system based on a polyclonal antibody and is particularly capable to detect bovine milk residues in food matrices, rinse water and swabs. Due to an introduced hook line, false negative interpretation of highly contaminated samples (hook effect) can be excluded. The kits are provided with all the necessary and ready-to-use material to perform 20 individual analyses per kit.
Bovine milk represents one of the most important food allergens, especially for children. Already very low amounts of bovine milk can cause allergic reactions, which may lead to anaphylactic shock in severe cases. Cross-contaminations during production process, and an eventual undeclared presence of milk in foodstuffs is a major risk for consumers, and gives particular importance to proper allergen detection. In particular the presence of hidden milk proteins such as in sausage, cookies, convenience food or beverages represent a critical problem for milk allergic persons.
The SENSIStripPowerLine kits make sure that allergen detection covers efficiently all possible cases. The hook line enables to identify highly contaminated samples with avoiding the hook effect. The test takes only a few minutes of preparation and evaluation.
