Liquid Stable (LS) 2-Part Homocysteine Reagent

HOMOCYSTEINE - proven utility at all levels

First promoted for cardiac risk assessment, homocysteine now appears to be an accurate frontline indicator for a wide variety of diseases throughout a person's life. From neural tube defects and learning disorders in the young, through to the increased risk of stroke or dementia in the elderly, the body of evidence continues to grow. Since developing the first homocysteine assay over 15 years ago, Axis-Shield has been in the forefront of promoting this vital new marker.

HOMOCYSTEINE on your chemistry analyser

Now with the introduction of the fi rst 2-reagent Liquid Stable Homocysteine assay, Axis-Shield has made testing easier and faster than ever. Providing quantitative determination of total homocysteine, the new assay offers greater benefi ts including:

  • HIGH THROUGHPUT
Up to 750 tests per hour.
First result in < 15 minutes.

  • SIMPLICITY
2 ready to use reagents and calibrators.
    Onboard stability for 30 days.
    30 days calibration stability.

  • VERSATILITY
For use with EDTA and all other samples.
Wide range of chemistry analyser protocols available including:
    OLYMPUS
    Roche MODULAR P
    Roche Cobas® 6000
    Hitachi 917
    Cobas MIRA

  • ACCURACY
Standardised to NIST SRM 1955 (Homocysteine Standard Reference Material).
Excellent correlation with the industry comparative methods such as immunoassay and HPLC.

Method Comparison

The new Liquid Stable 2-Part Homocysteine assay was compared to the Catch Enzymatic Homocysteine reagent on the Olympus AU400. Data from the study was analyzed using Passing-Bablok regression and summarized below.
